White Castle Enters the Chicken Sandwich Wars With Crave-Worthy New Menu Item
White Castle is throwing its hat in the ring in the chicken sandwich wars with a new menu item.
White Castle is joining the chicken sandwich wars with a bold new menu addition, aiming to go head-to-head with other fast-food favorites in the battle for crispy chicken supremacy.
Nation’s Restaurant News reports that White Castle’s vice president of marketing and public relations, Jamie Richardson, revealed that the fast-food giant will soon debut a new chicken sandwich. He shared the news during the National Restaurant Association conference in May 2025.
Launching nationwide on June 16, White Castle’s new chicken sandwich features extra-crispy buttermilk-fried chicken topped with a sweet and tangy honeycomb mustard, all nestled between the brand’s signature buns. For an additional charge, customers can customize their sandwich with lettuce and tomato.
“We’re going to introduce a crispier and bigger chicken sandwich,” Richardson said. “It’s tastier, [more crave-worthy], and we think it’s time. Our secret superpower is the size of our sandwiches and sides. They’re smaller so they’re nimbler, and you can share them. So, being able to get cheese sliders alongside chicken sandwiches is a perfect way to complete your lunch or dinner.”
He added, “We did extensive testing. We went all different directions when we explored what customers want next and overwhelmingly, this honeycomb mustard was a hit … it’s got all of the great flavors you’d expect from a crave-worthy Castle, and coming soon to a Castle near you.”
White Castle Swings Into Summer With Massive Deals
Additionally, White Castle plans on delivering more value than ever to its customers throughout the summer. These new initiatives build on the brand’s commitment to delivering fresh food, fast, with deep customer savings.
In a press release, the company shared details of money-saving deals throughout the summer. These begin during Memorial Day weekend and continue through Labor Day. Coupons are available on White Castle’s social media and website.
- Memorial Day Weekend: Customers get $3 off a Crave Clutch of any 20 Sliders using code CLUTCHDEAL from May 24-26.
- Father’s Day Weekend: 20% off any order by using the code WCDAD from June 13-15.
- Shortest Night of the Year: Customers can score a BOGO small shake after 8 p.m. by using the code SUMMER from June 20-22.
- National Onion Day: Buy 2, get 2 free Sliders from June 27-29.
- National Fried Chicken Day: BOGO free new Crispy Chicken Slider by using the code CRISPY from July 4-6.
- National French Fries Day: Free cheese fries with any order by using the code CHEESY from July 11-13.
- National Cheesecake Day: Free cheesecake on a stick with any order by utilizing the code CHSCAKE from July 30 through Aug. 3.
- Labor Day: Get 20% off any order by using the code TWENTY% from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.
There are also additional savings for Craver Nation Rewards Members via White Castle’s app throughout the summer. Some of the deals are restaurant-only, including BOGO free Double Cheese Sliders all throughout June, a Father’s Day BOGO free Combo Meal, a six-piece Chicken Ring and small fry for $3 in July, and BOGO Breakfast Slider combos from Aug. 1 to Sept. 7. Customers can also get the Night Castle Meal (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) from June 21 to Sept. 7, which is a $6 Cheese Cravings Meal (four Cheese Sliders, small fry, three-piece Cheese Stick & small drink).
App-exclusive deals include 10 Cheese Sliders and a sack of fries for $12 in June, buy three Sliders, get one free in July, a free dessert on a stick with a $10 purchase from Aug. 1 through Sept. 7, 20% off mobile orders from June 20-21 and July 3-6, and 25% off mobile orders for Labor Day.
