Rankings season is upon us, and we’ve got some employment statistics for you to feast your eyes upon if you’d like to see which law schools will give graduates the best bang for their buck when it comes to putting their degrees to good use.
The American Bar Association recently released new employment data for the Class of 2024, and thanks to an analysis made by Reuters, we now know which law schools sent the highest percentage of graduates to full-time law jobs requiring bar passage.
The class of 2024 struck gold when it came to employment, with more than 82% of graduates landing full-time, long-term jobs requiring bar passage within 10 months of being handed their degrees. When including jobs for which a J.D. provides an advantage, the employment rate climbs to more than 87%. These are “record-high” employment statistics. Just about 3% of 2024 graduates were unemployed and looking for work.
Without further ado, these are the top 10 schools for employment in bar-admission-required jobs:
- Duke: 97.83%
- Cornell: 96.43%
- Baylor: 95.45%
- Wash. U. in St. Louis: 95.09%
- UVA: 94.65%
- Columbia: 94.26%
- Illinois: 94.09%
- Chicago: 93.97%
- Texas A&M: 93.82%
- Michigan: 93.79%

Duke yeets UVA out of the top spot, which the school has held for the past two years, while Baylor, which is currently ranked at No. 43 by U.S. News, managed to leap into the Top 5 with the highest employment rate of all non-T14 law schools.
