RISD apparel design seniors present 2025 collections
Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Apparel Design seniors will debut their one-of-a-kind creations on the runway at Collection 2025 Credits: RISD The Rhode Island School of Design's Apparel Design senior class presented their designs in the Collection 2025 runway show. The event will be held at Providence’s WaterFire Arts Center on May 28, 2025. The fashion show will showcase designs created by twelve graduating designers: Anna Winters, Avidron, Ruolin Bai, Jersey Bond, Isabel Clulow, Nura Dhar, Olivia Rose Founier, Vivian Lin, Minwoo Matthew Oh, Bryce Satow, Jordan Wang, and Tracy Zhang. The designers have developed collections exploring themes such as desire, gender, and potential future scenarios. According to Gwen Van Den Eijnde, Apparel Design department head, the program encourages students to develop their design styles and experimental approaches to materials. The senior collections focus on qualities like texture, proportion, and silhouette, representing diverse concepts from character studies to imagined situations, sometimes reflecting potential global uncertainties through design elements. Graduates will be entering a network of RISD alumni and pursuing careers in various sectors including independent studios, retail companies, or related fields, with an emphasis on sustainable practices and design focused on the wearer. RISD's partnership with IFF, involved in scent, flavor, health, and bioscience, will continue. This year marks the start of a three-year partnership where IFF perfumers will collaborate with students to translate their collections into scents. The initial collaboration began in 2019.
