(PEI) is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its iconic Original Penguin brand with the launch of a special anniversary capsule collection. The collection is inspired by the original Earl Polo, its famous mascot Pete the Penguin, and several pieces from the brand's archive. Looking at the brand's mid-century heritage, the collection also features bright colorways and different textures. "For 70 years, we've prided ourselves on our rich heritage that served as a foundation for our design philosophy of self-expression and having fun," said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International, Inc., in a statement. "We've always called for our guy to be an original, and we're happy to celebrate a long legacy of that tradition." Original Penguin is best known for its vintage American style with a playful edge, merging classic design with contemporary appeal. Worn by icons from Frank Sinatra to Brad Pitt, the brand continues to honour its legacy while evolving for the next generation. "We're looking forward to pushing the boundaries of our designs in terms of fun, color, detail, and retro expression," said Michael Miille, Creative Director of Perry Ellis and Original Penguin, in a statement. "While we are a cherished American heritage brand, Original Penguin was founded on fabric innovation. We'll continue to innovate in every category, in any way that feels right to our heritage of originality." The capsule collection is now available for sale online and in stores at Original Penguin locations and retail partners nationwide, including Amazon, Macy's, Nordstrom, Revolve, and Belk, with prices ranging from 49 to 125.
