Carnival Cruise Line Returns to Port Villa for the First Time in 6 Months on Memorial Day Weekend
Carnival Cruise Line is returning to the fan-favorite locale.

Carnival Cruise Line is returning to a fan-favorite location, Port Villa, for the first time in six months on Memorial Day weekend.
According to The Travel, Carnival Cruise Line is making a triumphant comeback to Port Vila following multiple seismic scares. Carnival is returning to the venue for the first time in six months.
Furthermore, according to a company press release, the popular cruise line is expected to see record numbers of passengers during Memorial Day weekend. Carnival plans to transport around 2 million passengers on its 29 ships and make over 1,200 stops to about 100 locations between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
“Summer is the busiest time for travel and Carnival Cruise Line is poised for one of our largest summer cruise schedules ever. Many Americans are within a five-hour drive of one of our 13 U.S. homeports, so they can easily access one of our fun-filled cruises. With most meals, entertainment and other activities included, a Carnival cruise represents a significant value over land-based vacations,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, in a statement accompanying the press release. “This summer is set to be especially memorable as we open Celebration Key on Grand Bahama, our game-changing destination that will deliver the ultimate day in paradise for our guests.”
Carnival Cruise Line Will Introduce a Ticketless Shore Excursion System
A ticketless shore excursion system will allow select Carnival passengers to experience the world in a new, environmentally friendly way for the 21st century.
Along with some of its digital partners, the well-known cruise line has been developing a new mobile application for its shore excursion system.
Physical tickets for shore excursions are no longer required because the digital platform provides enhanced functionality. After successfully integrating the platform in Australia earlier this year, the company is testing the app with a few tour operator partners in specific Bahamas and Caribbean areas.
By July 19, when Carnival Cruise Line’s destination Celebration Key opens, the app will be used for all Grand Bahama shore excursions. The new platform will be fully functional in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico by the end of this year. Starting in the summer of next year, it will also be available on cruises to Alaska and Europe.
