Aperture Cellars, the acclaimed Sonoma County winery founded by Jesse Katz, has announced the official release of Collage—a groundbreaking new luxury wine collection. This bold introduction represents the most ambitious project in the brand’s history, signaling a transformative chapter in its winemaking evolution.
Crafted as a tribute to creative expression and cultural heritage, Collage is an artistic fusion of precision farming and winemaking excellence. With over a decade of dedicated work, Jesse Katz and his team have pushed boundaries to create two exceptional wines that stand as a pinnacle of innovation and artistry.
The collection includes the 2022 Proprietary White Wine and the 2021 Proprietary Red Wine, both sourced from a stunning array of vineyards. These include more than 200 acres spread across five unique appellations, some of which contain estate vines originally planted in 1912. This depth of heritage adds richness to the wines, offering an unparalleled blend of history and modern craftsmanship.

Each vintage is the result of meticulous selection, with over 300 individual vineyard lots evaluated for every blend. The result is a deeply layered wine that captures the complexity of Sonoma’s diverse terroir. This meticulous process brings a distinct identity to each bottle, embodying the brand’s commitment to excellence and precision.
Collage goes beyond traditional winemaking to become a cultural expression. It is a statement of place and time, created with the belief that wine should inspire connection, emotion, and creativity. Katz’s vision channels his global experience—over 25 harvests across the world—into a truly unique Sonoma-born masterpiece.
The 2022 Proprietary White Wine is a vivid expression of style and structure, aged 18 months in barrels and another six months in custom concrete vessels. This dual-aging technique sharpens the wine’s focus while elevating its depth and purity. The blend reveals vibrant layers that invite discovery with every sip.

On the other hand, the 2021 Proprietary Red Wine is a bold, aged expression, showcasing the power of patience and intention. After 24 months in barrel, six months in concrete, and a full year in bottle, this wine offers complexity that speaks to its thoughtful construction. Every element of this vintage has been curated to create a wine of unmatched sophistication.
From the beginning, Collage was envisioned as more than a wine—it was designed as a multi-sensory art form. The visual identity of the label, created using hundreds of photographs by Jesse’s father, Andy Katz, mirrors the wine’s core philosophy. Each image was selected and layered into a single cohesive collage, capturing global experiences and personal moments.
The label design is a dynamic tribute to creativity, featuring geometric lines reminiscent of a camera shutter and fluid wax drips that reflect spontaneity. This visual harmony echoes the dual nature of winemaking itself—discipline and instinct, structure and freedom.

Andy Katz, a world-renowned photographer, describes Collage as a reflection of the magic found in fleeting moments. The same feeling he captures in a powerful image is mirrored in the soul of these wines—a fleeting moment bottled with lasting impact.
At its heart, Collage is about bringing people together through the universal language of art. Its foundational pillars—Artistry, Community, Collection, and Diversity—form the DNA of the project. Every bottle is a symbol of collaboration, uniting growers, winemakers, and creatives in the pursuit of something greater than the sum of its parts.
The debut vintage of Collage will be released on May 13, 2025, exclusively through Aperture’s website. Wine enthusiasts can experience this exceptional offering at the estate’s luxurious tasting room in Healdsburg later in the summer. The 2022 Proprietary White Wine is available in a three-bottle set for $375, while the 2021 Proprietary Red Wine is offered in a three-bottle set priced at $1,275.
