Andrea Bocelli takes on Napa
Hot on the heels of launching his own wine range, the classical tenor is heading to California to host a VIP extravaganza called 'Bocelli's Weekend in Napa', complete with the launch of a new limited-edition bottle. Speaking to the drinks business last year, classical star Andrea Bocelli said that the level of quality he strives for with his Bocelli1831 collection is "shaped in part by the privilege of tasting some of the world’s finest wines." Despite having what he describes as “a fairly well-stocked cellar", Bocelli confessed to db that it contains "no precious bottles”. The one he considers to be the most valuable is a bottle of his family's own wine from 1928, the year Bocelli's father was born. "It’s certainly not a Château Petrus," he said. "And I doubt it has many other admirers, but I would never part with it, regardless of any (unlikely) offer.” The Bocelli1831 range, which includes a Prosecco DOC and a white and red blend (both from Tuscany), became commercially available in the first quarter of 2025, and is produced in partnership with Italian wine company Zonin. Now the singer is headed Stateside to promote his wines in style.

Napa weekend

From 20-22 June, the Time to say goodbye singer will make his Napa debut with a jam-packed event called Bocelli's Weekend in Napa. Taking place at Charles Krug Winery, the weekend kicks off with a multi-course VIP dinner with Andrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica, where the singer's own Bocelli1831 wines will be paired with dishes, followed by an auction to raise cash for the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. Two full-length concerts by Bocelli alongside the Oakland Symphony will also take place over the course of the weekend. The three-day event has been "personally curated" by the singer, and an extravagant 'Bocelli Village' will be created in the winery grounds featuring local food vendors "showcasing the finest Napa and traditional Italian cuisine", as well as wine tasting pop-ups from other Napa producers, and local merchants selling their wares. General admission tickets start from US$199.35, though guests can build packages to craft their "ultimate weekend in Napa Valley". Those who wish to attend the dinner and auction will have to dig a little deeper with access costing $3,271.08 per seat.

Exclusive wine launch

Furthermore, Bocelli has produced a new wine exclusively for the Napa event. The limited-edition Andrea Bocelli 2023 Sentinel Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted by US winemaker Russell Bevan, will be available in signed magnum format. Only 20 cases of the wine have been made, and the collectible bottles sport a black and white label showing Bocelli's face in profile. As well as making wine for Bevan Cellars, based in Napa's Oakville AVA, Russell Bevan is also the winemaker for more than a dozen different wineries and is a well-known face around the valley. It is not known whether proceeds from Sentinel Ridge's wine sales will go towards the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, which aims "to empower people and communities suffering from disease, poverty, and social exclusion." Speaking of his foundation, Bocelli has previously said: "Our faith in love and justice calls upon us to build a better world than the one we have found. "It calls upon us to give back to the world all the good things that we have received, so that the less fortunate or the most vulnerable members of our society will have a chance to achieve a life full of opportunities and beauty, so that those who are worthy will find real opportunities and the energy required to thrive in their lives".
