American retailer Kohl’s appoints Michael Bender as interim CEO
Kohl’s has appointed Michael Bender as interim CEO, effective immediately, following the termination of Ashley Buchanan for cause due to policy violations involving undisclosed vendor conflicts. Bender, a board member since 2019 and chair since May 2024, brings extensive retail leadership experience. He will step down from his board chair role while the company searches for a permanent CEO.
