Amazon Ads Introduces Advanced AI-Powered Video Generator for US Advertisers
Amazon advertisers can now create product ads using the AI-powered Video Generator.

After some testing last year, Amazon has released an AI-powered video generator to U.S. advertisers. Available on the Amazon Ads console, the video creating software produces six unique videos based solely on a product’s ID.
Simply named Video Generator, the AI video creator can highlight a product by producing realistic motion videos with just a few clicks. In a matter of minutes, it can make far better ads than previous beta versions.
“When we first introduced Video Generator in beta in September 2024, it represented cutting-edge AI technology that allowed advertisers to create eight-second, low-motion video ads from a single product image in minutes,” said Jay Richman, VP of Product and Technology at Amazon. “Over the last nine months, we’ve continued to push the boundaries of what’s possible, resulting in an enhanced version of Video Generator that creates more sophisticated, high-motion video ads where the product blends seamlessly into the action or scene.”
Since the AI tech is free to use, businesses are not limited by budget constraints. According to the retailer, Video Generator saves both time and resources for advertisers.
What Can Amazon’s Video Generator Do?
Essentially, the AI analyzes a product’s description alongside any Amazon customer reviews. Advertisers can also provide exiting media, like logos or social media content, to the AI model.
Video Generator takes the information and generates six multi-scene videos of real-world product use. Instead of a simple image of a watch on a table, it will generate images of someone actually wearing and using the watch. Moving text and music can also be added.
The AI can take videos uploaded by the user, like tutorials or product demos, and create a highlight reel that identifies key benefits and features. It then pieces them together into a format suited for an ad campaign.
Users can tweak the results, such as changing the font format, to meet brand-specific guidelines. Headlines can also be edited accordingly.
Amazon’s Video Generator comes at a time when other tech giants are ramping up AI ad options. By the end of next year, Facebook owner Meta is on track to release a tool capable of creating an ad campaign using just a website URL.
