Wines Unearthed taps into “strong growth” in Southeast Asia
Wines Unearthed, the company which helps independent producers find distribution in new markets, has announced the lineup for this year's Vinexpo Asia fair, allowing brands to tap into a "key hub" in Asia and buyers to find new producers from all over the world in one location. Wines Unearthed taps into "strong growth" in Southeast Asia Vinexpo Asia 2025, set to take place on 27-29 May at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, will feature the debut of Wines Unearthed, a platform which offers wine producers a chance to exhibit their portfolios at international exhibitions. “We’re excited to launch Wines Unearthed Asia at Vinexpo Asia in Singapore” said co-founder Judy Kendrick. “We chose this show because of the strong growth in the region and our confidence in Vinexpo as an organiser. We expect this to become a key hub for our producers looking to expand into Asian markets”. Alpamanta, from Argentina's Luján de Cuyo region, will be among the producers Wines Unearthed is representing at Vinexpo Asia. With 30 hectares under vine, the winery produces 125,000 bottles annually, focusing on varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Also hailing from Luján de Cuyo, Cielo y Tierra will be represented at the exhibition. The brainchild of musician Gustavo Santaolalla, its portfolio includes Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and a distinctive White Malbec. Chile's representation includes Viña Chocalan from the Maipo Valley, Clos de Luz, Las Veletas, and Andes Plateau. These wineries bring a range of styles and grape varieties, reflecting the country's varied climates and soils. From South Africa, Piekenierskloof Wines from the region of the same name will be showcasing both classic and innovative varietals at the fair. European wines will also be well represented by Wines Unearthed. Austria's Weingut Emil Bauer brings wines from the Wagram region, known for its expressive Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. From France, Champagne Barnaut, a family-owned house established in 1874 in Bouzy, which produces 100,000 bottles annually, will offer Champagnes crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. From Spain, the De Moya Winery grows all indigenous varieties including Bobal, Monastrell and Merseguera. A family-run producer, this winery from the Levante region delivers "affordable luxury" wines. Wines Unearthed also wants to put a spotlight on emerging regions and innovative approaches at Vinexpo Singapore. Georgia's K'Avshiri is a collaboration between winemaker Vladimer Kublashvili and critic Robert Joseph and brings together diverse grapes and winemaking techniques including qvevri fermentation and oak maturation. Finally, Hungary's Föld winery and Portugal's Kranemann Wine Estate and Herdade dos Grous - Quinta de Valbom will also be exhibiting with Wines Unearthed. Co-director Ana Sofia Oliveira said: "It's important that buyers understand the role of Wines Unearthed in helping producers — we organise the space and help with the branding and marketing. When it comes to any commercial arrangements this is entirely between the producer and the buyer. The mission is simple: connect quality-focused wineries with international markets in an open and transparent way." Wines Unearthed will be present at Vinexpo Asia on the back wall of level B2 at stand J093. Contact Judy Kendrick hello@winesunearthed.com to find out more or to book a meeting.
