About six years ago, in October 2018, then-President Donald Trump praised the slightly revised version of NAFTA — which he called the “United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement” — that he was about to sign. Trump called this “the most important trade deal we’ve ever made by far.” The deal would reduce outsourcing and increase automobile manufacturing in the United States.

Remarkable. You’d think only someone with as big a brain as Trump’s could have negotiated the deal.

Until last month, that is. Trump now asks — I kid you not — “Who would ever agree to something like this?”

Hmmm.

Wait a second. I’m checking my notes.

If you’re a MAGA supporter, then I’m fairly confident that you thought six years ago that the USMCA was spectacular, and you believe today that only an idiot could have signed that ridiculous arrangement.

It’s enough to make your head spin.

Spinning heads: That’s what “The Exorcist” and the MAGA movement have in common.

But that’s just the beginning.

During his first administration, Trump thought that Bitcoin was “highly volatile and based on thin air.”  As Trump said a couple of years later, it “just seems like a scam.”

But today, according to Trump, Bitcoin is so valuable that the United States must create a Crypto Strategic Reserve.

Where’s Linda Blair when you need her?

But you, MAGA supporters, what are you thinking?

Was Bitcoin really a scam a few years ago and a necessity today? If so, what made you revise your thinking? Or is it possible that you’re just going along with whatever Trump says, without considering whether his positions make sense?

Yes, MAGA fans, I know you’re a little steamed up now.

But I’m just getting started.

In 2016, Trump’s position on invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-incriminating was pretty clear: “The Mob takes the Fifth. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

Until Letitia James put Trump under oath in 2022. In a deposition about his business practices, Trump invoked the Fifth Amendment 440 times.

Remind me again: How did they make her head spin around like that? Was it a life-size dummy?

Trump really should hire the special effects team from “The Exorcist.”

MAGA guys, what do you honestly think about this issue? Do you agree with what Trump said a few years ago? What Trump says now? What Trump will say tomorrow? Or don’t you really care; you just agree with whatever the fearless leader spews?

How about vaccines for COVID-19?

They were great while the Trump administration was developing them — Operation Warp Speed. But then the vaccines came on the market after the election, so Trump and his MAGA gang opposed them.

Whoosh! Back to front. Front to back. 360 degrees. It’s a miracle.

And, of course, there are the events of January 6. In January 2021, according to Trump, those events were an abomination. Shortly after that, the riot on January 6 was Antifa’s fault. Then, it was an inside job committed by the FBI. After a while, it was a normal tourist visit. And now it turns out that the entire bunch of January 6 criminals deserved to be pardoned.

MAGA folks: Did you really believe each of these ridiculous stories as Trump was peddling them?

Why?

Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?

How could you possibly have been so gullible?

And have special effects advanced enough since 1973 for filmmakers to keep up with this?
