In a world of fleeting fashion trends and seasonal silhouettes, Monday Swimwear has proven that timeless elegance never goes out of style.

At Paraiso Miami Swim Week 2025, founders Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman proved once again that timeless style never goes out of fashion. More than a decade after launching Monday Swimwear, the duo was honored with the Swimwear Icons Hall of Fame: New Media Icons award—fitting for two women who turned an Instagram feed and a blog into a global empire. What started as a digital dream has evolved into a brand worn on beaches, seen on runways, and respected in boardrooms. Oakley and Brugman aren’t just designing swimwear—they’re redefining what it means to build a fashion empire from the sand up.

A Miami Legacy

Miami Swim Week isn’t just another event on their calendar—it’s part of their brand’s DNA. Over the years, Oakley and Brugman have used the city’s electric energy, sun-soaked streets, and global stage to debut some of their most iconic collections. And 2025 was no exception. Backstage, the founders gave Haute Living an inside scoop into their team’s group chat, which we all know must have been a digital mayhem before the collection hit the runway.

“It’s electric,” Brugman shared. “We are all so excited, It’s been a really intense few months in preparation for this. So it’s really special to see it all coming together with our whole team here.”

With a loyal fan base and a growing roster of celebrity supporters, Monday Swimwear has solidified itself as the go-to label for refined resort wear. Their pieces are more than garments—they’re statements of subtle luxury, emphasizing fit, form, and femininity over flashy logos or trend-chasing cuts. In an industry that often rewards loudness, Monday’s voice is calm, confident, and utterly chic.

From Bloggers to Industry Forces

Oakley and Brugman’s story began in the early 2010s, when their blog A Bikini A Day captivated audiences with its dreamy visuals and aspirational lifestyle. But what started as content curation quickly grew into content creation, and then, brand building.

“We’ve had the brand for almost 12 years now,” Oakley noted backstage. “And while it’s evolved, it has always been an ode to the elegant, timeless, European-inspired woman.”

That commitment is more than just a brand ethos—it’s a business model. Despite the whirlwind of success, viral growth, and social media pressure, the founders have stayed true to their original goal. From advocating for body positivity, basing their pieces on designs that compliment and flatter all female forms. Their collections are designed for longevity, built with fit and functionality in mind, and created with the goal of empowering women, not dressing them up for fleeting moments.

The Real Work Behind the Runway

Behind every polished presentation is a team running on caffeine, excitement, and friendship. The duo credits their successful partnership on two main secret weapons.

“We’re always making light of situations and making sure that we’re taking care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and then we’re ready to dive back into work when it’s time.” Brugman said. “But I think that that’s kind of the secret sauce to our business is that we have each other.”

“Also luckily we’re not in New York City—we’re in Miami. We’re going to go dive in the ocean tomorrow,” Oakley joked.

But there’s truth in the lightheartedness: their brand was built beside water, inspired by sun, and shaped by a desire to live freely, stylishly, and authentically.

Chic, Timeless, and Always Monday

When asked to describe their latest collection in a single word, the founders didn’t hesitate.

“I have to say, Chic,” Oakley said.

“Timeless,” Brugman added.

These aren’t just adjectives—they’re a commitment to the woman they design for: confident, effortless, and unapologetically herself.

Monday Swimwear has grown from a passion project into a globally recognized label with a loyal following and consistent acclaim. Their return to Miami Swim Week isn’t just a victory lap—it’s a testament to what fashion can look like when it prioritizes authenticity over hype, and substance over spectacle.

And as the models made their final walk under the lights, the Monday Swimwear team—slicked hair, shimmer glow, and all—stood behind them, not just watching their work unfold but living it.

Because for the Monday Swimwear owners, you can always feel confident and free — even on a Monday.
