When The Ritz-Carlton, Naples first opened its doors on December 4, 1985, it marked a pivotal moment for both the brand and the city. As the fifth property in the Ritz-Carlton portfolio—and only the second resort—it played a foundational role in transforming Naples into a premier luxury destination. Located on the white sands of Vanderbilt Beach, the resort debuted with approximately 450 guest rooms, two heated pools, multiple dining venues, a 51,000-square-foot spa, and direct access to the Gulf. Room rates started at just $125 per night, and the resort quickly became synonymous with refined service, understated elegance, and coastal charm.

A striking 14-story Vanderbilt Tower was added, introducing 74 new rooms and suites, along with a 4,000-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge that boasts panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico. Public spaces were reimagined to elevate the arrival experience, and the pool areas were expanded to include dedicated zones for families and adults, complete with private cabanas and air-conditioned bungalows.

Dining has also been elevated, with the introduction of new culinary concepts like the Mediterranean-inspired Sofra and the chic coffee bar Moka, complementing beloved staples such as Dusk and The Grill. The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples received a full refresh as well, now offering cutting-edge treatments and wellness experiences. These enhancements contributed to the property earning LEED Green Building Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and environmentally conscious design.
