Having selected our top 10 rosés priced below £20, now we bring you the best bottles retailing from £20 to £30, featuring a set of delicious, dry, pale pink wines from Provence – as one might expect – as well as Puglia and Austria.
Compared to our rundown of slightly cheaper offerings last week, what's notable about the selection below is how the entry-point price for Provençal rosé tends to be over £20, when a couple of years ago, many of these lovely wines would have sold for below that figure (although they occasionally still do when on promotion).
Indeed, for the most part, the headline price for rosés from this famous pink wine producing area of France seems to be £23 – the cost of a bottle of category leader Whispering Angel, which, as you can see below, proved to be one of the benchmarks in terms of quality and style in 2025's line-up from Provence.
Having said that, our highest-scoring wine in this price band was a rosé from Austria, made using the native grapes of central Europe – and you can read more about that rosé in the following list.
All the wines below were Gold medalists or higher in this year's Global Rosé Masters, which took place last month in London, featuring a wide array of samples from around the world, as well as the latest vintage offerings from all the major brands from southern France.

- Grape varieties: 60% Mourvèdre, 30% Syrah, 10% Grenache
- ABV: 13%
- Approx. retail price: £28

Located in the Languedoc, between the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Cévennes and a mere 19km from the coast, is this well-regarded château. Re-established by Gérard Bru, a descendant of the original owners, in 1981, the vineyard estate comprises 150 hectares of alluvial soils on a limestone base. The red and rosé wines are based on Mourvèdre, with Grenache and Syrah. Very, very pale pink-peach in hue, the wine shows raspberry, strawberry and white cherry fruit with a creamy accent. Dry and light-bodied, the palate has crisp acidity, and good flavour definition and length. The lingering finish with its hint of spice suggests pairing with Dover sole meunière. A map from the middle of the 18th century notes the source of this wine as ‘Le Galoup’, which became ‘Le Galoupet’. Annotated then as a biodiverse Provençal forest packed with green oaks, umbrella pines, strawberry trees, rosemary, thyme, catnip and... vines, the Galoupet vineyard has been organically certified since 2023. This wine, very pale peach-pink in colour, has peaches-and-cream aromatics with accents of an English rose garden. Dry and light-bodied, the fruit-driven palate flavours are supported by brisk acidity, with a hint of astringency giving added structure. Gastronomic, the wine will pair nicely with barbecued tuna steaks and a gremolata sauce. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
CHÂTEAU SAINTE MARGUERITE FANTASTIQUE ROSÉ 2024

Château Sainte Marguerite is one of only 18 estates to hold the 1955 cru classé designation in Provence, and the only one to be 100% organic and vegan. This wine, created in 2017, is from the historic estate vineyard. Very pale peach in hue, the light-bodied, almost dry wine shows crisp acidity framing red berry and white cherry fruits, and crushed yellow rose and leesy notes. Sappy, savoury, with good definition and length, the wine will form a perfect complement to a platter of sashimi. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
LOVE BY LÉOUBE 2024

On a property of 560 hectares where the land meets the sea in the Provençal département of the Var, overlooking the Hyères islands, Château Léoube fashions beautiful rosé wines from organically-grown grapes. Pale baby-pink in hue, the wine has raspberry, strawberry and pomegranate fruit, with light rose petal and creamy lees overlay. Nearly dry, the light-bodied palate flavours are framed by racy acidity. Delicate, but showing good concentration and length, the wine would be a nice match for prawns in a creamy sauce with spring onions and white mushrooms, gently spiced with black, white and cayenne pepper. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
CHÂTEAU DES DEMOISELLES ROSÉ 2024

A bastide established in 1830, set among old plane trees and vines, Château des Demoiselles is located in the Esclans valley below the rugged Provençal hills. Organically produced since 2022 under the direction of Aurélie Bertin, this flagship wine shows a pale peach-pink hue, and red and black fruits with an herbal garden overlay. Nearly dry, the mid-weight palate has dense concentration and racy acidity, with a spicy, white pepper note. A perfect match for Thai dishes. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
CHÂTEAU SAINTE ROSELINE PRESTIGE ROSÉ 2024
- Producer: Château Sainte Roseline
- Region: Provence
- Country: France
- Grape varieties: 40% Grenache, 35% Cinsault, 15% Syrah, 10% Tibouren

Another of the few 1955 cru classé estates, this vineyard and winery are on the site of the 11th-century chapel and 12th-century abbey of Celle-Roubaud. The abbey was completely renovated in 1994 by Bernard Teillaud under the direction of architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Today, Teillaud’s daughters, Aurélie Bertin and Delphine Meunier, are the owners. The wine, with a lovely pale peach tone, shows wild strawberry fruit with green grass and fresh rain nuances. Dry, the light-bodied palate is supported by lively acidity and a creamy, leesy texture, leading to a long finish. Elegant, refined and balanced, this wine will pair beautifully with an ethereal salmon soufflé. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
CHÂTEAU D’ESCLANS ROSÉ 2023
- Producer: Château d’Esclans
- Region: Provence
- Country: France
- Grape varieties: 78% Grenache, 19% Rolle, 3% Tibouren
- ABV: 14%
- Approx. retail price: £30
- Medal: Gold
Made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate, Château d’Esclans Rosé is carefully hand-harvested and chilled almost immediately to preserve freshness. Half of the wine is vinified in demimuids (600-litre oak barrels) and half in stainless steel, all temperature-controlled. Over approximately eight months of ageing before blending, the wine’s lees are stirred to increase richness and fullness. The resulting wine is pale peach-pink in colour, with soft yellow peach and ripe pear fruits and rose petal and cream overlay. Dry, the medium-bodied palate shows fresh acidity and density of flavour, and is layered and textured, with an allspice and nutmeg finish. Delicious with roast pork tenderloin stuffed with champignons and sautéed yellow onions. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
WHISPERING ANGEL 2024
- Producer: Château d’Esclans

- Grape varieties: 58% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah, 6% Carignan, 6% Rolle
- ABV: 13%
- Approx. retail price: £22
- Medal: Gold
Probably the world’s most famous rosé, and certainly one of the best-selling, it was pleasing to find that Whispering Angel is a benchmark for quality in the sub-£20 category of pale dry pink wines. The rosé’s appeal stems from a core of peach, pear and red berry fruit, complemented by a touch of bitter lemon on the finish. Texturally, this is soft in mouthfeel, but leaves one feeling refreshed with its dry, citric edge. (Patrick Schmitt MW)

Delicate pale pink in colour, with a nose bursting with ripe apple, peach and basket-loads of red forest fruits. Luscious, rich fruit explodes on a palate that is perfectly balanced with crisp acidity. A dry, fresh wine with a rare purity and delicacy of texture. Memorable for its sheer length and complexity on the finish. (David Round MW)

Pale pink in appearance, this is very aromatic in style with delicate strawberry, lemon zest, peach and ripe apple on the nose. The palate has impressive purity, with attractive ripeness, with cranberry and raspberry fruit, balancing freshness and lovely momentum through to the finish. A plump, expressive wine of great vibrancy. (David Round MW)
Le Cirque des Grives Château La Gordonne BIO
- Producer: Château La Gordonne
- Region: Provence

- Grape varieties: 60% Cinsault, 40% Grenache
- Residual Sugar: 6g/l

Pale and bright in the glass, this rosé ia bursting with delicious stone fruit aromas — from ripe peach to nectarine — layered over a subtle creamy note, hinting at extended lees aging. There’s a textured, slightly oily palate that adds depth and weight, balanced by a zesty acidity and a persistent finish featuring flavours of grapefruit and orange blossom. In short, it's a magnificent rosé that benefits from using very old-vine Cinsault and Grenache from the great organic Provençal estate that is Château La Gordonne. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
STREHN SEEROSÉ 2023
- Producer: Weingut Strehn
- Region: Middle Burgenland
- Country: Austria
- Grape varieties: 40% St Laurent, 40% Blaufränkisch, 20% Merlot
- ABV: 13%
- Approx. retail price: £20
- Medal: Master
Weingut Strehn has turned towards rosés, nominally inspired by the wines of southern France, and now produces six different rosés. This wine displays a pale salmon hue, with warm flavours of watermelon, galia melon and yellow peach, with overtones of vanilla and gently toasted white bread. Dry, but quite rich and sweet-fruited, the mid-weight palate is complex, with lively acidity framing the flavours. There is exceptional length. A delight to taste and would pair beautifully with tempura-style soft-shell crabs. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
