Sazerac Company has launched in Hong Kong for the first time with local partner Telford International, bringing nine spirits to the market.

US-based drinks company Sazerac has introduced nine of its spirits, eight whiskeys and one vodka, to the Hong Kong market for the first time with Telford International Company Limited as its sole distributor.
Sazerac, which has a portfolio of more than 450 labels, has launched the following spirits into Hong Kong: Buffalo Trace Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Eagle Rare Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Sazerac Rye Straight Rye Whiskey, 1792 Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey, Early Times Gold Bourbon Whiskey, Early Times White American Blended Whiskey, Southern Comfort Original, Southern Comfort Black and Wheatley Vodka.
The spirits maker's expansion into Hong Kong follows a similar move in India in November, when it was announced that the US company would introduce more of its Bourbon whiskey brands to the Indian market.
Sazerac Company looks at India as an "opportunity market", according to
local reports, because it is one of the largest whisky consumption markets in the world.
The company, which owns a stake in Bengaluru-based liquor maker John Distilleries Ltd, plans to launch and develop Bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in top Indian cities.
Diego Bianchi, Sazerac Company GM emerging markets & Barrel Select, said of the strategy: "We do expect to continue to invest. India for us is a priority market. You will see year in and year out, we will continue to bring in more of our award-winning Bourbons from Buffalo Trace distillery to India."
Sazerac's Hong Kong partner Telford International, which was established in 1982, is a Hong Kong-based drinks distributor. It expanded its sales network into Mainland China in 2002 through the establishment of Shenzhen Telford Trading Company Limited before setting up headquarters in Shanghai in 2007.
