The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce is set to host its most anticipated event of the year—the 99th Annual Gala, known as the Miami Beach Ball. Slated for Saturday, May 17, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, this prestigious black-tie evening, presented by City National Bank, draws more than 600 of the city’s most influential business and civic leaders for a night that celebrates community, innovation, and purpose.
This year’s theme, “From Sand to Sparkle: A Journey Through the Magic of Miami Beach,” promises guests a multi-sensory experience that captures the essence of North Beach, Mid-Beach, and South Beach. From immersive design elements to dynamic live performances and curated culinary presentations, every detail aims to reflect the energy, culture, and soul of Miami Beach.
The gala is more than a celebration of the past—it is a powerful vehicle for progress. As the event nears its centennial, its legacy is grounded in a deep commitment to investing in the city’s youth. A significant portion of the proceeds supports the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding opportunities in education, healthcare, and career development across the city’s public schools.

For Richard Segal, Chairman of the MBCC Board, the event represents the heartbeat of the Chamber’s mission. He believes the gala is not only a tribute to Miami Beach’s rich history but also a meaningful catalyst for future transformation. The Chamber continues to champion leadership, entrepreneurship, and public-private partnerships that build a better tomorrow.
Robin Jacobs, Co-Chair of the gala and Co-Chair of the Education Foundation, emphasized the real-world impact the event makes. Funds raised directly translate to critical initiatives—from mental health services and student scholarships to modern culinary labs that help high school students gain hands-on career experience. The Foundation’s efforts ensure that public school students are not only supported but truly equipped for lifelong success.
The Miami Beach Ball also serves as a platform to recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations that have shaped the city’s story in profound ways. This year’s honorees reflect diverse achievements that have left lasting impressions across business, healthcare, media, hospitality, and community advocacy.
Barry Skolnick, entrepreneur and founder of Ikonick Motors, will receive the Leonard A. “Doc” Baker Lifetime Achievement Award. Known for his commitment to philanthropy, civic leadership, and contemporary art, Skolnick exemplifies the type of visionary leadership this award seeks to celebrate.

Haute Living, a top-tier luxury lifestyle publication, will be honored as Corporate Citizen of the Year. The magazine is being recognized for its forward-thinking philanthropic work and consistent dedication to community enrichment through its “Haute Giving” campaigns and local partnerships.
The powerhouse hospitality group Major Food Group, which operates iconic venues like Carbone and Sadelle’s, will receive the Excellence in Tourism Award. Their contributions have not only elevated Miami Beach’s culinary reputation but also significantly boosted tourism and cultural appeal.
Gift of Life Marrow Registry will be honored with the Jan Pfeiffer Distinguished Service Award for its transformative work in donor registry innovation and patient advocacy. CEO Jay A. Feinberg, himself a transplant survivor, has positioned the organization as a global leader with deeply local roots.
Music legend and community advocate Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell will receive the City National Bank Beach High Outstanding Achievement Award. A proud graduate of Miami Beach High School, Campbell continues to impact lives through his advocacy for student-athletes and commitment to educational empowerment.
Beyond awards and recognition, the evening will feature an exciting live auction packed with premium experiences, luxury travel, and high-end products. Every bid placed helps fund the next wave of support for students across Miami Beach’s educational system. With each dollar raised, the Chamber moves closer to its goal of creating equitable access to opportunity for all residents.
