Italia del Vino launches wine business programme
The Italia del Vino Consortium, a group of 23 leading Italian wine companies, has launched a new course in collaboration with Rome's Luiss Business School. Called the 'Wine Business Program', the newly-launched initiative is open to both undergraduates and graduates who are considering a career in the wine sector. The course, which is taught in English, will involve 37 days of classroom teaching, covering five modules. Topics ranging from viticulture to marketing will be covered, with the programme utilising AI, as well as practical workshops and tastings. After the classroom section, 20 participants will be able to partake in a three month internship with member companies of the consortium. The top candidates, as selected by a panel of experts, will then be given fixed-term employment contracts. “The Wine Business Program 2025 is an intensive course, strongly supported and funded by the companies in our consortium, aimed at training highly qualified professionals capable of facing the challenges of the wine industry with managerial, technical, and strategic skills," said Roberta Corrà, president of Italia del Vino. "The project was created with the goal of enriching the educational background of graduates and graduating students, offering an immersive and hands-on experience in close contact with the business world." Among the members of the consortium are the likes of Zonin 1821, Duca di Salaparuta, Gruppo Italiano Vini, Librandi Antonio e Nicodemo, Angelini Estates and Banfi. Together, the full membership of Italia del Vino is responsible for 15% of the country's wine export share and directly employs some 3,500 workers.
