Pret A Manger is launching a new shop format that offers a more spacious, family-friendly environment with made-to-order food and drink service designed for longer, more relaxed visits.
Set to open in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, and Maidenhead this month, the new format marks a shift from the chain‘s usual grab-and-go style common in London stores.
These shops will feature a longer counter where customers can watch their food being made, more dine-in space, a Little Stars Café play area for families, and an exclusive menu including hot ciabattas, sourdough toasties, new breakfast items, and a wider range of sweet treats.
Pret’s baristas will also serve a lightly roasted organic coffee blend exclusive to these shops, alongside their classic 100% organic Arabica coffee.
The new stores will be operated by Pret’s franchise partners Hala Group in Maidenhead and Joup Group in Dundee.
Pret’s managing director for UK & Europe Clare Clough, said: “Now, we’re taking that further, making Pret a destination for customers in a bit less of a rush who want a comfortable space to enjoy delicious food and spend time with family and friends.”
Hala Group managing director Nicola Snowden added: “We are proud to partner with Pret to open this incredible new shop in Maidenhead, a first for the town and one designed with the local customer in mind.”
Last week, reports emerged that Pret’s owner JAB Holding is exploring options ahead of a possible IPO.
While it is “not currently” selling shares, the group may consider bringing on a pre-IPO investor as it prepares for a potential stock market flotation.
An IPO would mark a major step for the business, which was acquired by JAB for £1.5bn in 2018.
