In-N-Out Burger Announces Major Change in Drink & Condiment Ingredients
In-N-Out Burger is shaking things up.

In-N-Out Burger is one of the few fast-food places where customers can count on consistently good food, drinks, and company, but a recent change has occurred with its drinks and condiments, and customers are saying it’s for the better.
The New York Post reports that the popular burger chain has removed artificial coloring from one of its most popular drinks.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with the highest-quality ingredients, we have removed artificial coloring from our Strawberry Shakes and Signature Pink Lemonade,” Patty Pena, a spokesperson for In-N-Out Burger, confirmed in a statement.
The outlet confirmed that In-N-Out Burger will soon give its ketchup a facelift as well.
“We’re also in the process of transitioning to an upgraded ketchup, which is made with real sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup,” Pena said.
In-N-Out Burger May Be Complying With the HHS
While In-N-Out Burger may be trying to improve the customer experience with these new and improved condiments and drinks, there are some suggestions that the company is also making the change to comply with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is trying to eliminate artificial additives in our food.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently met with several executives from some of the biggest food companies in America to discuss the elimination of artificial dyes as part of his Make America Healthy Again agenda. Participants in the discussion included representatives from the Consumer Brands Association, Kraft Heinz, Tyson Foods, and other significant food manufacturers. They appeared willing to “meet rigorous, evidence-based safety standards set by federal and state regulators” at the end of the discussion.
Food safety advocates are counting on food corporations to fulfill their earlier pledges to remove artificial substances. As a food policy researcher, Marion Nestle stated that “the time has come” for these businesses to remove petroleum dyes as promised.
“For too long, some food producers have been feeding Americans petroleum-based chemicals without their knowledge or consent,” RFK Jr. said in a press release in April. “These poisonous compounds offer no nutritional benefit and pose real, measurable dangers to our children’s health and development.”
