Haute Living Honored At The 99th Annual Miami Beach Ball

On May 17, the 99th annual Miami Beach Ball welcomed more than 600 guests for a night that celebrated civic leadership, community service, and the enduring spirit of Miami Beach at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Hosted by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and presented by City National Bank, the black-tie gala marked one of the city’s most anticipated annual events, honoring individuals and organizations whose work is helping shape Miami Beach’s future.

This year’s theme “From Sand to Sparkle: A Journey Through the Magic of Miami Beach” was brought to life through immersive design, live entertainment, and curated culinary experiences that paid tribute to the city’s vibrant neighborhoods. Haute Living was recognized with the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award for its philanthropic initiatives and longstanding support of charitable partnerships that elevate civic engagement across South Florida. The award acknowledged Haute Living’s ability to cover Miami’s culture, but also actively contribute to it, particularly through its Haute Giving initiatives and strategic community alliances.

  • Barry Skolnick received the Leonard A. “Doc” Baker Lifetime Achievement Award for his leadership in healthcare, philanthropy, and the arts.
  • Major Food Group was awarded the Excellence in Tourism Award for expanding Miami’s global culinary footprint through restaurants like Carbone and Sadelle’s.
  • Gift of Life Marrow Registry was recognized with the Jan Pfeiffer Distinguished Service Award for its national leadership in donor registration and transplant innovation.
  • Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell received the City National Bank Beach High Outstanding Achievement Award for his tireless efforts to support and mentor student-athletes in Miami Beach.

Beyond the accolades, the event also served a deeper purpose—raising critical funds for the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation, a nonprofit supporting public school students with access to education, mental health services, and career opportunities. Proceeds from the evening’s live auction, featuring travel packages and one-of-a-kind experiences, directly benefited the foundation’s ongoing programs.

As the Miami Beach Chamber prepares for its 100th anniversary, the 99th Ball stood as both a celebration of legacy and a statement of intent. It brought together civic leaders, creatives, and changemakers not just to reflect on progress, but to invest in the next chapter of the community’s story with Haute Living proudly among those helping to lead the way.
