Dubai has officially joined the culinary big leagues.

During a glittering ceremony in Downtown Dubai this week, the MICHELIN Guide unveiled its 2025 selection—marking a historic moment as the city welcomed its first-ever three MICHELIN Star restaurants. The announcement confirms what chefs, gourmands, and global travelers have long suspected: Dubai’s food scene isn’t just evolving—it’s exploding.

Now in its fourth year, the MICHELIN Guide Dubai highlights 119 restaurants across 35 cuisines, an extraordinary 72.5% jump from its inaugural 2022 edition. It’s a leap that speaks to the city’s rapid culinary ascent and its place as one of the world’s most exciting gastronomic destinations.

The biggest headline? Trèsind Studio, helmed by Chef Himanshu Saini, has become the first Indian restaurant in the world to earn Three MICHELIN Stars—a groundbreaking accolade for the progressive, homegrown concept that has redefined Indian fine dining. Also making history is FZN by Björn Frantzén, a new Dubai outpost from the acclaimed chef whose restaurants in Stockholm and Singapore have already earned the Guide’s highest honor. With this latest achievement, Frantzén becomes the only chef in the world to simultaneously hold Three Stars at three different restaurants.

“The launch of the fourth edition of the MICHELIN Guide Dubai, including the naming of the city’s first three-starred restaurants, marks another pivotal moment in Dubai’s journey as a world-class gastronomic destination,” said Issam Kazim, CEO of Visit Dubai. “From homegrown eateries to globally renowned names, this vibrant gastronomy landscape truly reflects the dynamism of a city that always aims to inspire the world.”

The MICHELIN Guide’s evolution mirrors Dubai’s own. Now celebrating its 125th anniversary, the guide has gone from a road map to a global barometer of culinary excellence. With its anonymous inspectors, signature star system, Bib Gourmand category for exceptional value, and Green Stars for sustainability, it continues to shape and spotlight the very best the culinary world has to offer.

As for Dubai, it’s already attracting more global attention than ever: with 7.15 million international overnight visitors between January and April 2025, it’s clear that food is helping drive the city’s tourism boom.
