Ascend Performance Materials has begun producing high-purity acrylonitrile at its Chocolate Bayou plant in Texas, enabled by new purification equipment. Backed partly by a US government contract, the move supports sectors like aerospace and healthcare. Ascend also plans to add acetonitrile production in Chocolate Bayou to bolster pharmaceutical supply.
