World Diamond Council applauds breakthrough on broader conflict diamond definition
The World Diamond Council (WDC) has praised the progress made towards expanding the Kimberley Process (KP) definition of conflict diamonds, after what it said was “a successful week of open and productive dialogue” at this year’s Intersessional in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting, hosted by the UAE and current KP chair Ahmed Bin Sulayem, marked a significant breakthrough in seeking to expand the definition of conflict diamonds after years of discussion.
