Keeper of the Quaich Natalie Tennent will join The Whisky Exchange as managing director after 30 years at Berry Bros. & Rudd.
The Whisky Exchange has announced the appointment of Natalie Tennent as managing director, effective 7 July 2025.
In her new role, Tennent will oversee The Whisky Exchange, Speciality Drinks and Whisky.Auction.
Tennent will take over from deputy managing director Olivier Gasperin who will be returning to Pernod Ricard HQ at the end of June following three and a half years overseeing the integration of The Whisky Exchange into the business.
Nicolas Oudinot, CEO of the direct-to-consumer business unit of Pernod Ricard, said of the appointment: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Olivier Gasperin, deputy MD of The Whisky Exchange, who has been instrumental in the past 3.5 years in managing the integration of The Whisky Exchange into the Pernod Ricard group, while keeping the specificity of its DNA and a complete neutrality."
French multinational Pernod Ricard acquired Speciality Drinks, the parent company of The Whisky Exchange, in September 2021 from founders Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh.
Alexandre Ricard, chairman and chief executive at Pernod Ricard, said at the time that e-commerce was a "key channel" in the company's long-term strategy. As one of the largest online retailers of spirits in the UK and the largest online retailer of whisky in the world, the acquisition of The Whisky Exchange was a key element of this strategy.
Tennent joins The Whisky Exchange from fine wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd, where she has spent the last 30 years.
Most recently, Tennent held the role of chief commercial officer, driving international expansion. Prior to that she developed the spirits division at the business.
