New data reveals the nation’s favourite beers, ciders and craft brews, with BrewDog, Guinness and Black Sheep leading the charge.  Pints of beer on a table A new study by Bionic has crowned BrewDog as the most popular pint brand in the UK, with the Scottish brewer beating out major names like Guinness and Heineken in a ranking based on online searches, social media traction, and public recognition.

BrewDog leads the pack

With an index score of 65.6 out of 100, BrewDog takes the top spot in the list of the UK’s most popular pints. It also sees a TikTok trend score of 83.0%, reflecting the brand’s strong digital presence.

BrewDog operates 71 bars across the UK and produces over 36 different beers. It has also expanded into spirits and cocktails, further cementing its position in the drinks market.

Guinness and Black Sheep follow

Coming in second is Guinness, with an index score of 54.8. While the iconic Irish stout enjoys 3.3 million Instagram hashtags and near-universal brand fame at 97.0%, its lower TikTok and trend scores pulled it behind BrewDog in the overall ranking.

North Yorkshire’s Black Sheep Brewery takes third place with an index score of 45.7. Though smaller in scale, it ranks as the UK’s most popular independent craft pint. TikTok searches for the brewery have grown 50% year on year, and it holds a fame rating of 42%. Craft beer continues to be a firm favourite with UK drinkers, pulling in 38,000 Google searches for the term each month.

Kopparberg crowned top cider

Swedish cider brand Kopparberg secured fifth place overall and stands as the UK’s favourite cider. The brand has generated 152,000 Instagram hashtags, a brand fame rating of 85.0%, and retains its status as an independent brewery despite its global reach. It is also known as the world’s best-selling pear cider and is available in over 30 countries.  Other brands making the top 10 include Cornwall’s St Austell Brewery (4th), Welsh brewer Brains (6th), Dutch brands Bavaria (7th) and Heineken (9th), Kent-based Shepherd Neame (8th), and Australian independent Coopers (10th).
