The Dispatch has named Kelsey Dallas as managing editor of SCOTUSblog, further cementing its legal and editorial offerings. In her role as managing editor, Dallas will help improve SCOTUSblog’s considerable offerings and steer the website into the future.
“I am overjoyed that Kelsey is coming onto SCOTUSblog,” said Zachary Shemtob, executive editor of SCOTUSblog. “Kelsey has been doing fantastic work on the Supreme Court at the Deseret News, and we can’t wait for her to bring her experience, great talent, and unique voice to the team.”
Before coming onto SCOTUSblog, Dallas was at the Deseret News for 11 years. She served as the assistant manager editor for the site, focusing on religion and the Supreme Court. Dallas has a master’s degree from Yale Divinity School.
“I’m thrilled to be joining SCOTUSblog after years of relying on it as a reporter,” Dallas said. “The spotlight on the Supreme Court has never been brighter, and SCOTUSblog is in position to break down every key move.”
Founded in 2002, SCOTUSblog has earned widespread recognition for its comprehensive, non-partisan coverage of the Supreme Court. The publication was acquired by The Dispatch in 2025 as part of its strategy to expand its legal reporting capabilities.
