Shingles Vaccine Linked to Lower Dementia Risk

Off-target immunological effects of the live-attenuated herpes zoster vaccine for shingles could potentially lower the risk of dementia, a new study published in Nature proposed. The health records of more than 282 000 older adults showed that those who received the shingles vaccine were 20% less likely to develop dementia over the next 7 years than those who did not.
