Next is preparing to significantly expand its presence at Bluewater Shopping Centre by taking over the former House of Fraser unit in 2026.
The fashion and homeware giant is set to triple its current footprint, moving from its 44,600sq ft space to a 133,000sq ft location.
This new store will be one of the retailer’s largest branches in the UK, promising to offer an even broader range of clothing, homeware, and a café for shoppers to enjoy.
Bluewater centre director James Waugh said: “We’re thrilled to see next significantly expanding its presence here at Bluewater, following many successful years in its current space.
“This move not only reinforces Bluewater’s position as a leading retail destination but also highlights the continued confidence in bricks-and-mortar retail that we’re seeing. We will be announcing more details on the new next store in due course, with an expected opening date to be shared as soon as possible.”
Next’s expansion follows a wider trend of Bluewater attracting new tenants, with recent arrivals including SpaceNK, Haribo, Sephora, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Aesop, Lindex, and Peter Alexander.
The space previously occupied by House of Fraser closed at the end of 2024, after being a central fixture in Bluewater for over 25 years.
While the renovation is underway, the current next store will remain operational throughout 2025.
