New seaport at Vizhinjam to reduce India’s logistics costs by 30%
Indian PM Narendra Modi recently commissioned the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala that was completed at an estimated cost of $1.05 billion. All transshipment cargo of the country will be handled from the seaport within a year. The aim is to reduce India’s logistics cost by 30 per cent by increasing efficiency and cut turnaround time. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone built the port.
