Kane Footwear deepens sustainability drive with One Percent for the Planet collaboration

Kane Footwear Credits: Kane Footwear Kane Footwear, the US-based brand known for its focus on post-activity recovery shoes, has expanded its environmental commitments through a new collaboration with non-profit organisation 1 percent for the Planet. The initiative includes the release of a limited-edition shoe, which will generate an additional contribution to the charity, exceeding Kane’s existing pledge to donate 1 percent of annual revenue to environmental causes. The launch underscores Kane’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes using Brazilian sugarcane-derived EVA in its flagship Revive shoe, reducing packaging waste with FSC-certified materials, and running a take-back program—Project Renew—that repurposes used shoes into yoga and changing mats. “This collaboration reflects Kane’s dedication to going beyond expectations,” said Kate Williams, CEO of 1 percent for the Planet. “Their contribution will have a multiplying effect, helping unlock environmental impact across our network.” Founded by former professional athlete John Gagliardi, Kane is a certified B Corporation and has made sustainable innovation central to its business model since inception. The new shoe, priced at 90 dollars, features the phrase “Not just Earth Day, Everyday” and is part of the brand’s push toward a fully circular product offering. The partnership is a continuation of Kane’s mission to combine performance footwear with planetary responsibility, targeting consumers who prioritise purpose as much as design.
