Inside Honeywell’s plan for a new F-35 cooling system [Video]

The F-35 is intended to fly for decades to come, and central to that goal is the ability to increase the cooling and power management on the jet. Currently, Lockheed Martin is running a competition between Honeywell and Collins Aerospace to decide who will provide that system for the future.

Breaking Defense’s Aaron Mehta sat down with Honeywell Aerospace CEO Jim Currier to discuss the company’s offering, how Honeywell views its future on the jet, and what technologies could be applicable outside the fifth-generation strike fighter.
