Council welcomes launch of Critical Minerals Strategy, new Bill
Industry body the Minerals Council South Africa has welcomed the launch of the country’s Critical Minerals Strategy and the gazetting of the Mineral Resources Development Bill (MRDB) for public comment. The strategy was launched by Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe on May 20, with platinum, manganese, iron-ore, coal and chrome ore listed among the country’s most valued critical minerals.
