AMRC launches UK’s first hybrid thermoplastic tape R&D line
The University of Sheffield AMRC has unveiled the UK’s first open-access hybrid thermoplastic tape development line, built by Cygnet Texkimp. Housed at the Factory of the Future, it enables both melt and slurry processing of polymers, supporting innovation in recyclable, high-performance composites. The modular line handles various fibres and tape sizes for industrial-scale R&D.
