For a limited time, Sprite drinkers’ tastebuds can experience something new — Sprite + Tea. Available now, Coca-Cola’s new Sprite drink will be in U.S. and Canadian stores until October.

After extensive brainstorming, a team of intern researchers came up with a satisfying flavor, color, and texture for Sprite + Tea. However, the original idea for the flavor combination started with social media. In 2023, Sprite fans started steeping tea bags in the soda and showing off the concoction on TikTok.

“We’re always listening to our consumers, but this particular phenomenon motivated us to explore how we could offer our own refreshing take on tea,” said Sprite North America’s brand director, Kate Schaufelberger, in a press release. “Sprite fans love variety, not just in flavor but in the ways we bring refreshment to life through unique multisensorial experiences that stay true to the essence of the brand.”
